Personal statement:

A little bit about myself, my name is Idrissa Kabore.I am 21 years old, I’m from Mali ,Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast. I was born in Canada and I moved to Africa when I was 6 years old . First I was in Mali for 3 years then I moved to Ivory Coast where I lived for 5 years and finally I lived in Ghana for 3 years then I came to Canada. I moved a lot around Africa and I experienced our rich cultures in their similarities and differences.Living in the motherland helped me understand our struggles as a continent. Living in the west helped realize how we are perceived around the world and how we should build our communities to face the many challenges we face all around and at home.

As a student at Concordia University I was looking to meet other people from the African Diaspora. That’s when I joined ACsion Concordia and ASAC. I was an ambassador for both associations which led me to want to become an executive member of Acsion Concordia.
Why will I be a good central coordinator?
I have many qualities such as excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources.I will be able to clearly and concisely convey information to different teams, as well as listen and respond to feedback and concerns. I also have the ability to analyze situations, identify potential solutions, and make informed decisions. I will be able to inspire others,

EDUCATION Coordinator

Field & year of study as of May 2023: Philosophy, 3rd year
Family origins: Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮

Personal statement:

I believe I would make the best candidate for the Education coordinator position for the following reasons. Firstly, I am aware of the responsibilities associated with this position and given my previous experience I believe I have the skills required. During my studies I had the privilege of volunteering on the communications and social media team for Ailes du Savoir, an NGO based in Côte d’Ivoire that primarily works with domestic abuse victims and orphaned children. In addition I also worked with Street Girls AID, a non-governmental organization started by high school students in Ghana whose goal is to educate and raise funds for street children, most of whom are orphans. In these roles so worked closely with the team to organize fund raising events and created opportunities for sponsorship from local businesses. In addition the team works together to provide materials such as books and funding to further education programs. As a volunteer I learned valuable skills such as advocacy, communication, community outreach and teamwork. I hope to use these skills to further develop ACSION if I am elected Education Coordinator.
